Police responding to a report of a deceased child Monday night found Shay Mooney's 11-year-old daughter Wade Richardson unresponsive, ABC7 reports.
Mooney gave the girl 10 milliliters of Oxycodone, Seroquel and other medications from her own prescriptions in an attempt to treat pain caused by a medical condition they both share, the mom told police.
The affidavit says Mooney's apartment was in "serious disarray" with syringes, pill bottles and medicine throughout.
A neighbor told ABC7 she tried to help and perform CPR on Wade.
"There were needles on the floor so you couldn't even walk," the neighbor said. "You couldn't get the door open. It was really messed up."
Wade's obituary says she was passionate about theater -- singing and dancing since the day she was born.
"She would do anything to help others in need and she took an active interest in world humanitarian issues," the obit says.
"Wade was also an animal lover and had an especially strong, loving bond with her three dogs, Duck, Goose & Peter."
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 3 at the Madison Memorial Home.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will begin at 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 4 at St. Vincent Martyr Church in Madison with burial at St. Vincent’s Cemetery.
Charitable contributions may be made in Wade’s memory to Harm Reduction Coalition at www.harmreduction.org
